TAVEGIL tablets with clemastine for hay fever, itching and hives

TAVEGIL tablets with clemastine can be taken to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, itching, and chronic hives of unknown cause (urticaria). The contained active ingredient clemastine belongs to the 1st generation antihistamines. The antihistamines block the docking sites of the body's own histamine and thus block the effect of histamine. Histamine is released in the body during allergic reactions and triggers the symptoms such as itchy, runny noses, itching, redness and wheals. This blockade of antihistamines can relieve the allergic symptoms. TAVEGIL tablets also help symptomatically with hives (urticaria) of unknown cause.

Dosage of TAVEGIL tablets:

TAVEGIL tablets are readily divisible and can be dosed individually. However, even when used as directed, the tablets may cause drowsiness, slow reaction time and thus impair active participation in road traffic.

  • Children between 6 & 12 years of age: Half a tablet may be taken 2 times daily if needed. In severe cases, a maximum of 1 tablet may be taken 2 times daily.
  • Adolescents 12 years & older & adults: If needed, 1 tablet may be taken 2 times daily (morning & evening). In severe cases, up to 6 tablets may be taken daily, but no more than 2 tablets at a time.

 

In case of prolonged use of more than 14 days, consult a doctor.
